Take it away, Christy:

Thank you, D.D., for allowing me to guest post as the RG2E Featured Author. I’ve been writing for ten years and self-publishing for a year and a half. I’ve published seven full-length novels and one 16,000 word short story that some call a novella. I’m having more fun running my own business and connecting with readers than I ever thought possible.

Today I’d like to talk about my book, Dodge the Bullet. Here’s the back cover copy:

Two years after her husband’s death, Sarah Woodward moves her boys away from their fast paced life in suburban Atlanta to small town Hailey, Colorado. But Sarah doesn’t know a Colorado Senator has earmarked her ranch for purchase and he’ll do anything to get it. Unwilling to sell, she dismisses his continued offers and moves ahead by improving the land with the help of a sexy stranger. A.J. Dodge is a man with a past.  He’s returned to his hometown ready to set down roots and make things right with his family and whatever anyone else thinks he doesn’t give a damn. Until his old friend Tommy Thornton asks a favor, a favor he can’t refuse, and Dodge becomes involved with the beautiful widow Sarah Woodward. She’s alone with her young sons on a dilapidated ranch she’s determined to get up and running with or without his help. Under pressure to deliver the Woodward ranch to a land developer with shady connections, the senator sets in motion a dangerous plot to convince Sarah to sell. Dodge will risk everything to protect Sarah and the boys including his heart.

I wrote this book years ago after my husband and I discovered the wonderful beauty of southern Colorado. Having grown up in several suburbs along the east coast, I could easily imagine the hardships of moving to a small agricultural town out west with two headstrong children.

Using D.D.’s ‘The First One’s On Me’ philosophy, I’ve had Dodge the Bullet FREE on Amazon, Smashwords, Kobo, Sony & Diesel since last fall and have never looked back. I’ve had more comments than I can mention from people who downloaded the book, loved it, and came back to try more of my work.

For me, giving away a book that was for years collecting dust on my hard drive was a no-brainer. I’m not even sure what made me hesitate when I first read about other authors offering their work for free. Why should a reader chose to pay for my work when they could easily download or purchase a book by another author whose work they know they enjoy? By offering Dodge the Bullet for free, I’m able to take the risk factor out of the equation and let the readers decide. I’m as grateful for the opportunity to show my work to people who may enjoy it as I am to discover new authors using this method myself.

Since Dodge the Bullet is free on most sites, if you have a Nook and would like an epub copy, please leave your email address in the comments and I’ll be happy to provide a smashwords.com coupon code for downloading to your Nook.

Happy Reading, RG2E Followers!

It’s Your Turn, RG2E Peeps: Christy will be checking in throughout the day. So, if you’ve got questions for her about her books or her writing process, ask away!
