Happy New Year, RG2E! It’s hard to believe it’s 2013. The dawning of a new year is like standing in front of a squeaky clean black board with a fresh pack of chalk in my hands. The new calendar year brings new goals and many months to complete them.

After the whirlwind of the holidays, it feels great to settle back into a routine. For me, that means getting back to work on book two in my Golden Rule Outfitters series. Book one, Mending the Line, released in late November and introduced readers to the cast of characters who will carry this series through it’s planned three books.

Here’s a short description of Mending the Line:

Jill Jennings’ dream of becoming an elite runner turns into a nightmare when she breaks her leg less than a year before the Olympic trials. After two surgeries and a lengthy rehabilitation, she’s ready to pursue her goal again. Or is she…

Jill’s healing and ready to hit the pavement, but her passion for the sport she’d planned to make her career unexpectedly wanes. On a whim, she changes course and runs right into tall, blonde, and gorgeous Tyler Bloodworth. Fly fisherman come and go in south central Colorado, but Ty’s back for a second summer, minus his girlfriend and hotter than ever.

Tyler Bloodworth’s life plan to start a fly-fishing business with his dad back home in North Carolina is suddenly snagged when Jill Jennings runs circles around his heart during a summer stint as a fishing guide in Colorado. Back for a second summer, he sets his bait and casts his line, but Jill’s not so easy to catch.

A catch and release fisherman breaks Golden Rule #1: he hooks a girl he can’t let go. A distance runner with big dreams and an uncertain future falls hard for a summer fling. Can Jill risk losing her career and her heart to Tyler when he’ll be gone in a few months, or will Ty reel in the biggest catch of his life?

Book two features Jill’s best friend, Olivia Golden, and her quest to discover herself aside from her outward beauty. Nothing beats getting fired and falling for the one guy who can’t appreciate her gorgeousness to knock some sense into a girl! All three books take place in south central Colorado, the same area as my perma-free book, Dodge the Bullet.

This is my first attempt at writing a series and I’m enjoying the flow and world building that this endeavor entails. The start of 2013 for me means white water rafting, learning to read, and figuring out what really matters in life—at least as far as my characters are concerned. That’s a far more exciting prospect than my real life filled with carpool, cooking, and daily outings to the gym.

I’m looking forward to spending the first few months of this year on a grand adventure.

I hope you’ll pick up book one and come along for the ride…and I will be Ebook Gifting a few copies today 🙂 …in the meantime, load up your Ereaders with Dodge the Bullet for FREE!
